Just Chilling Out...

Ahhhh, what a tough life being a baby! In this rare moment, Jarvis is taking some time to lean against a chair & chill out :) Since realising he can crawl at super sonic speeds & walk around the furniture almost as quickly, it's not often he's in one place for long enough to get a photo! Really must work on figuring out the settings on the camera, there's bound to be one for cheetahs or indy cars which may catch him.

We went on an unscheduled adventure this morning to the YMCA, who have a morning session where small people climb, bounce & generally investigate things. I was a little bit skeptical about the whole thing, I don't really care for gyms of any sort! We were observed from a distance by a bunch of mums who obviously go all the time (none actually said anything to us though!), one lady who was also a first timer said hello which was nice...

Jarvis & I had a super time bouncing on trampolines & crawling through tunnels together while the majority of other Mums in attendance stood in a corner & looked at me as though I was an alien. My small friend scared the hell out of me by climbing up through a big plastic tunnelly thing to a slide - no fear, just total determination, while I tried to make sure I was in a position to catch him if he lost his footing. Luckily he managed fine - and was thrilled with going down the slide. We may just go again next week & I'll take the camera.

And I'll continue bouncing on trampolines & climbing through tunnels, despite what the other mums are likely to be saying! I'm not too cool to have fun with my son!

  2. Its a mums job to have fun with their kids! That means getting messy with mud pies, jumping in rain puddles AND jumping on trampolines. If the other mums are too stuck up to join in the fun, they'll be the ones missing out later.

  3. Totally understand Kathleen i took Ben to a mainly music class last week and felt like such a loner. Only the old ladies making the morning tea talked to me. :( The whole point of going was to make some friends for me and Ben so we don't have to sit at home all the time by ourselves. Good on you for just being you!
